Deon E. Avery
FOUNDING PRINCIPAL
Deon E. Avery has dedicated her professional career to education since 2007. A graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Baltimore City, Deon grew up in the St. Josephs Community on the west side of the city. She earned her B.A. in English and Spanish from Towson University and an M.A.T. from Johns Hopkins University. She later returned to Towson to complete a certificate of advanced studies in school administration. She is currently studying at the American College of Education to earn her Ed. D in curriculum and instruction. Deon is also currently completing the Secondary AMI Program to earn her 12-18 Diploma in Montessori education. Deon has served as a Spanish teacher and school administrator in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Region, with a commitment to putting students first in all that she does.

ADREN KORNEGAY
FOUNDING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Adren Kornegay is a veteran science educator, Green School Leader, and dedicated youth advocate with over 20 years of experience across public schools, STEM leadership, and laboratory science. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry and M.A.T. from Coppin State University and is certified to teach both Chemistry and Biology at the secondary level. Adren has taught high school biology, chemistry, and forensic science, led student government, coached athletics, and directed after-school and summer programs serving hundreds of students across Baltimore.
She brings a strong background in curriculum development, environmental health, and real-world STEM application, including work as a chemist and environmental health specialist. As Founding Assistant Principal of Charm City Garden Montessori, Adren blends academic excellence, environmental awareness, and deep care for student growth to help create a transformative learning community for Baltimore’s youth.
